NNE supports a better tomorrow for children in Sierra Leone

The necessary donations to fund a new school in the Kenema district of Sierra Leone have now been secured, kickstarting the project to improve children’s access to education in the area. NNE supports the initiative through our donation and partnership with the international NGO “Engineers Without Borders Denmark”, hereby emphasizing our commitment to making a difference for people in need globally.

Building a brand-new school

Today, the Kenema school infrastructure is far from optimal for supporting effective learning for children. The current school facilities, located in the community of Vaahun, consist of one single classroom with limited space and means to support an adequate and inspiring learning experience. The school project focuses on building one primary school from scratch, supported by NNE’s donation of DKK 150,000 to build six classrooms, a teachers' lounge, and a 7th classroom dedicated to computers and digital learning for the children.

Utilizing world-class engineering for a greater good

Engaging our time and resources in non-governmental, life-changing projects in communities worldwide is a choice from NNE’s heart.

“We are committed to the UN Sustainability Goals and have world-class engineering competencies, so it is only natural that we support an NGO technical-humanitarian project. Especially when our contributions can make a positive impact for children in need."

Silas Egelund Volfing, NNE’s VP of HR.
