With almost 70 new colleagues joining our Facility Design area last year, the facility design day on 3 February was much anticipated – and a great success. Read on for reflections from the day (and to find out how you can be part of the team).
The 2022 Facility Design day was first and foremost a chance for our Facility Design employees to meet and interact with colleagues they hadn't met before. With almost 70 new people joining last year that mission alone could have kept everyone busy for the full day. However, we also utilized the day to gain new knowledge about technologies, design methods and customer challenges.
It was great to have the whole team together and the day left me high with energy. We have a very busy and exciting year ahead of us, and I am excited to be part of the journey with this awesome team!"

Reimagine how we work
After a welcome and a look into the strategy for 2022, it was time for the keynote presentation. Innovator and futurist, Louise Opprudd took us on a tour de force of some of the world's most innovative companies who are reimagining how we work.
NNE is building the future for the pharmaceutical evolution, that includes rethinking and redesigning the way we work for more innovation and learning. What a treat to join the table with the science and best practise from global frontrunners, to ensure gearing the discussions for a progressive future."
Insider knowledge and outside perspectives
After lunch, the agenda broke out into different tracks, enabling our colleagues to participate in two tracks out of three possible.
NNE’s own Jens Olesen gave an introduction to product knowledge. This track was aimed mostly at all the new employees who may not have a lot of knowledge about the many different products that are handled in the facilities we help design and build.
At NNE, we love outside perspectives, so for our second track, we had Michael Edwards Pedersen, Lead VDC Manager at NCC tell us about how 'Virtual Design & Construction' (VDC) is used in NCC today and in the future. He also shared insight on how to integrate BIM tools intelligently throughout design and construction phases.
The third track was about the newest products in the Novo Nordisk portfolio. It’s no secret that Novo Nordisk is our biggest customer, and NNE – including many Facility Design colleagues – are currently involved in some of the biggest projects we have ever executed for Novo Nordisk (link to news about BADF/PPV).
Thus, NNE’s biotech expert, Niels Guldager, shared insights on how these new products work, how the manufacturing processes differ from earlier product types and how this creates new and different requirements for facility design.
